GENERAL SUMMARY

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for oversight of the repair, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of all equipment for the facility. This position will be the gatekeeper of the Plant Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and will plan and assign work for both IC&E Technicians and Maintenance Technicians. The position will also ensure that adequate spare parts are on site and that the plant is being maintained to the highest level.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

  • Assign work to IC&E and Mechanical personnel for maintenance of all process equipment
  • Develop work plans in the plant’s CMMS system and make sure documentation is adequately kept up-to-date
  • Work with Contractors & Vendors on outages and procurement
  • Assist Maintenance Technicians, IC&E Technicians and Production teams with troubleshooting
  • Develop and implement predictive and preventative maintenance programs
  • Fully utilize all skills and abilities to work in a flexible environment
  • Work closely with Operations personnel in all aspects of plant optimization

    WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

    The Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Production Manager and will work closely with other plant personnel.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

    Physical requirements include the possibility of standing for extended periods, stair and ladder climbing and lifting up to 50 pounds. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g. hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, etc.).

    Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules. 

    All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; secondary education preferred
  • Prior experience as a Supervisor
  • Background in ethanol/refinery/petrochemical desired
  • Experience with Mechanical and Electrical systems
  • Good computer skills – Microsoft Office, CMMS, etc.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good troubleshooting and repair skills
  • Specialized skills a plus
