Valor Contracting is currently looking for a driven, experiencedConstruction Managerto join our group. As a Construction Managerforour company, you would:

  • Manage, coach, and develop field personnel to achieve performance goals and company objectives
  • Determine staffing needs and overall work schedule to ensure smooth flow of work throughout our projects
  • Recruit, hire, train, discipline, evaluate, and make changes in status for field personnel in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with all safety laws/ordinances, including, but not limited to, ASHE, OSHA, MDH, DOT and the company's safety plan
  • Oversee the development and implementation of new processes and construction techniques to improve operating efficiency
  • Visit job sites and perform work quality inspections to confirm conformance to project specifications
  • Communicate with management team to share project progress updates, opportunities, or issues
  • Manage field operations budget and approve purchase orders for tools, equipment, safety items, and vehicles
  • Understand the subcontractor scope and contracts and proactively develop contingency plans
  • Help coordinate project access, storage, readiness, scheduling, phasing, hoisting, and jobsite rules
  • Oversee shop personnel, building, yard, and materials
  • Other duties as assigned

To excel in this role, an individual will need to:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management/Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five years experience working in the field on jobsites
  • Prior management, leadership, and training experience
  • Ability to read and interpret contracts, blueprints, submittals, specifications, details, and job orders
  • Strong decision making skills and a results-driven approach
  • Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations
  • Proficiency using software such as Viewpoint, Procore, MS Project, Word, and Excel
  • Enjoy working outside, in all weather conditions
  • Be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
